Murder Mystery night at Six by Nico, Charlotte St.

This place never disappoints and these evenings are always great fun!
We popped up from The London Underground at Oxford Street Station, wandered along an empty Regent Street towards the BBC, before hanging a right at Little Portland St. We found a cosy public bar at the Fitzroy Tavern on Charlotte Street, and enjoyed a glass of ale ahead of a short walk to our table in Six by Nico.
This Black Friday purchase (a xmas present to ourselves) made the experience all the more affordable; with six courses of delicious food accompanied by glasses of different wines, carefully selected to be paired with the meals on our plate.

The quality of the food is always high, with great service and lovely atmosphere.
This particular meal came with a ‘murder mystery’ theme, with a back-story to read, newspaper article to consume and clues to consider. The clues were drip fed with every course, along with pieces of “hard evidence” being brought to your table by our waiters. These clues included handwritten notes, fingerprints, bottles of sedative (brought fizzing and smoking to the table) and a whole host of other goodies to keep you guessing. Some clues were obvious, other more subtle.

It was surprisingly entertaining with the answer being provided on the final course. We were predictably useless at the game, but it was a fun spin on an evening that is already great on its own.
I’m guessing some food/wine snobs might “diss” the idea, but we loved it!
I would recommend this place and suggest looking out for Black Friday deals which bring the price down considerably. A six course meal with five glasses of decent paired wine for around £65 each…. why wouldn’t you?
Five glasses of wine alone in a London pub would cost most of that.
Of course the price outside of the limited Black Friday vouchers climbs somewhat. But it’s still a great experience!
